The Board comprises of seven distinguished Nigerians of proven integrity and recognized professional career contributions to the Nigerian public and private sectors. The Board is led by Mr. J. N. Obiago, an accomplished banker as the Chairman/CEO. The abridged profiles of the directors are as follows:
Mr. Joseph N. Obiago, Chairman/CEO.
He holds a Bachelor degree (First Class Hons.) in Business Administration/Economics from Dillard University, New Orleans, USA, an Alumnus of the Chief Executive Programme (CEP-6) of the Lagos Business School, Senior Executive Programme – Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. He spent over 7 years in Citibank N.A. at various executive management positions before leaving in 1991, to found GEC with a group of Nigerian Investors. He holds board appointments in several other companies and he is an authority and highly sought speaker in international oil & gas conferences.
Mrs. Margaret A. Koshoni
A director of the company, has had over 30 years work experience in diplomatic and foreign missions. She has worked extensively in the oil and gas sector as well as insurance sub-sectors of the economy. She had her training at Pitman College, London in the early 60s, where she worked for Shell UK. She was the Chairman of LASACO Assurance Plc from 1989 – 1995. She sits on the board of many other companies including Bottle & Basket Ltd, Halliday Farms Limited.
Mr. Nnamdi A. Obiago
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Dillard University, New Orleans. He has had over 20 years work experience as consultant, entrepreneur and investor in management consulting, mining and solid minerals sector. He is the Chairman/CEO of Proper Technologies Ltd, and a partner in Trinity Consultants Ltd.
Chief Suleiman A. Onabiyi
A director of the company, had his education at Milano Technical Institute, Milan, Italy where he obtained a diploma in building technology in 1965. He has had over 30 years work experience in both private and public sectors. Chief Onabiyi, a very successful entrepreneur, is the Chairman/CEO of Matef Limited. He is presently the Chairman, Nigerian Inland Waterway Authority (NIWA).
He is an executive director of the company. He holds Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Geology from the University of Calabar and an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) Diploma from the Lagos Business School. Prior to joining Global Energy Company in 1991, he had worked as consultant Geologist, consulting for E & P companies in Nigeria including Shell, ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, TotalfinaElF. He has over the 12 years of working career with the company held senior management positions in various capacities and units spanning general administration, business development, project management, products development and marketing, project execution and operations, the latest of which was his secondment to Nigerdock as Acting Director of Operations in-charge of the day-to-day operations of the yard. He has over 16 years Oil Industry E&P experience in prospects evaluation, basin analysis and stratigraphic studies. He oversees the company’s Asset and Resource Management services business, the West Africa Business and other key projects for the Company.
